Mastering Video Synchronization and Timing

Mastering Video Synchronization and Timing

Thursday, March 5th, 2026

Managing video timing and synchronization is always key when designing high- performance, accurate video servers and video processing systems.

Over the years, through close collaboration with high-end systems manufacturers, we have observed how deterministic timing directly impacts quality, reliability, and system integration in live production, medical imaging, simulation, industrial vision, broadcast, and many other domains.

Here is a concise recap of how DELTACAST helps you stay in sync:

  • NEW! DELTA-LTC-1 Standalone Capture Board

For use cases where LTC capture is required independently of a DELTACAST video board, we introduce DELTA-LTC-1, the dedicated LTC capture solution featuring a single BNC port. It operates standalone (no host video board) while remaining fully integrated with the VideoMaster SDK. Ideal for lightweight and specialized setups.

That is not all, our R&D team is currently working on an advanced sync card to be used for unprecedented cases. Stay tuned for more announcements later this year!

  • Built-in support for Genlock and LTC on most video boards

Most of the DELTACAST boards, especially in SDI, natively support genlock for frame-accurate video synchronization, as well as LTC for precise time alignment.

On these boards, the sync connector is used either for analog blackburst/tri-level input, or for LTC input.

  • A-LTC-1 Companion Module

When your application need both an analog genlock input and a LTC output, or when the video board has no dedicated sync input (typically capture-only boards), the A-LTC-1 companion module seamlessly integrates LTC capture capabilities to nearly any DELTACAST video board.
